Global Digital will share a marketing dashboard titled “Account Dashboard (global accts)” with each Khoros user. To view data on your account set, you will need to customize the dashboard following the instructions in this document. If you need help setting up or customizing a dashboard submit a digital request form on Connect.

You can view the recorded video tutorial version of this guide at this link

Steps to Customize the Account Dashboard

  1.  Open Marketing Dashboards console
  2.  Duplicate and rename Account Dashboard
  3. Remove global account filters
  4. Add local/program account filters
  5. Delete unwanted widgets
  6. Change engagement labels
  7. (Optional) Filter widget by channel
  8. (Optional) Duplicate label widget

Step 1: Open Marketing Dashboards console.

Login to Khoros at app.spreadfast.com and check that you are in the correct initiative. Then click the Analytics tab from the top navigation bar and select Marketing Dashboards from the dropdown.

Step 2:  Duplicate and Rename Account Dashboard

Locate the “Account Dashboard (global accts)” in your list of dashboards. Click on the ellipsis in the same line as the account dashboard and select Duplicate. In the window, rename the dashboard with the name of the account(s) you are tracking.

Step 3:  Remove Global Accounts.

Open the filter panel by clicking on the funnel icon on the left-hand side of the page. Click the plus sign next to “Account” to expand the account filters and click the “x”s next to the global account names to remove them.

Step 4:  Add Local Accounts.

Click into the Search Accounts field in the account filter panel and select your accounts from the dropdown. You can scroll through the list and check the box next to your accounts, or you can start typing the name of an account and select from the options. Once you have selected all the accounts you want to track, click Apply in the dropdown window and then click Save at the top of the filter panel.

Step 5: Delete Unwanted Widgets.

Go through the dashboard and remove any widgets that do not apply or that you do not want. For example, if you do not have an Instagram account that you are tracking, remove all the widgets that are focused on Instagram. Most programs will want to delete LinkedIn widgets as most of our LinkedIn presence is from the global flagship accounts. To delete a widget, hover over the box and click the trashcan icon in the top right corner, then click Delete in the pop-up window. If you are unable to edit the dashboard widgets, click Edit in the top right-hand corner of the window below your profile icon.

Step 6: Change Engagement Labels.

Scroll down to the section of the dashboard labeled “Engagement by Labels.” These sections will already be tracking certain labels as placeholders. You will want to track labels that you are using and which you have applied to posts in Khoros. For example, if you are posting a lot of content using the tag “Topic – People & Nature” then you will want to filter the widget for that topic tag.

  • Hover over the widget and click the pencil icon to edit.
  • In the window, click Filter Settings
  • Scroll down to the Label filter and expand the filter box
  • Remove the current label by clicking the “x” in the box
  • Search for the relevant label that you plan to track, check the box next to the label and click “Apply.”
  • Click “Filter Settings” to back out of that window, and then click “Display Settings"
  • Change the title of the widget to reflect the label you are tracking
  • Click Done to save your changes

Step 7: (OPTIONAL) Filter Widget by Platform.

The widgets will all be governed by the higher-level filters set up in step 4. If you want to see a smaller group of accounts, you can filter the widget by platform. For example, maybe you were only using a label systematically on Facebook, so you might want to see only Facebook results:

  • Hover over the widget and click the pencil icon to edit.
  • Click “Filter Settings” in the window.
  • Scroll down to the Channel filter and expand the filter box.
  • Select the channel (e.g., Facebook)
  • Click Apply and Done.

Step 8: (OPTIONAL) Duplicate Widget.

If you are interested in tracking more labels than there are widgets in the dashboard, you can duplicate one of the label tracking widgets.

  • Hover over the widget and click the duplicate icon (looks like two sheets of paper).
  • The copied widget will be attached to your cursor. Find an empty space on the dashboard and click to place the widget.
  • Edit widget as desired.

Tips on Configuring the Dashboard:

Expanding a Widget – If you cannot see as many posts as you would like to on a post explorer widget, you can drag the corner to expand it and see more data.

Page Outlines – The dashboards are designed for export, so the dashed line shown around the dashboard in edit mode is the page outline that you are designing your dashboard within. This is also why you cannot expand the size of a page.

Drag and Drop – you can click on any widget and drag and drop it to a new location on the dashboard.

Timespan – The Account Dashboard will be initially set to pull in data for the last 30 calendar days. You can adjust this in the bar at the top of the page. Click on the calendar icon to choose a different number of days on which to report data.
